1. Building Structure

Second City is designed to allow users to purchase land and build structures on it to operate anything they desire. The key to the concept of "anything you desire" lies in the building structure of Second City. Traditional metaverses often feature open building structures, where characters enter buildings using stairs or other means to move directly to upper levels. While this might make it easy to utilize building systems or tools provided by game companies, it severely limits the functionalities available for content creation. Users cannot create functions that are not provided, and it's not realistic. In reality, who would use stairs to go up and then jump down to quickly reach the first floor? Simply taking an elevator and instantly teleporting to different floors, where each becomes an individual space, is more realistic.

The core of Second City is the ability to create each floor of buildings in an open structure or in the form of mini-worlds using a block-stacking method. For instance, the first floor of a building can be an open structure, while the second floor and above can be mini-worlds, allowing movement through elevators and warps. The importance of the mini-world structure lies in the ability to create and offer services using Unity.

For example, if someone creates an English academy and provides video content services in the metaverse, an open-style building lacks selective access control, privacy in conversations, and the prevention of content leakage. Additionally, there is no means of receiving payment for entry. However, if each floor from the second floor onward is a mini-world, the situation changes. Each floor can have selective access control, private spaces, and revenue through ticket payments, as well as the possibility of leasing each floor to different individuals.

Second City provides basic modeling for each floor, offers open-source designs and sources for elevator roles, supports a 3D modeling marketplace between users, and enables users to stack blocks and build buildings in their desired way. The following functionalities can be utilized:

  1. Leasing each floor of a building.

  2. Operating a company.

  3. Engaging in content business.

  4. Conducting businesses linked to offline activities such as delivery and shopping.

  5. Bringing anything one can imagine from the 2D internet to the 3D implementation of Second City.
